If so ordered, ropes shall be rot-proofed by the application of zinc or copper based rot-proofing agent in appropriate quantity as agreed to protect the rope from fungus and microbial attack. The rot-proofing agent may be applied at the dressing stage for uniform penetration in the rope. Ropes which have been so treated shall otherwise comply, in all respects with the requirements of this standard.
